Rıfat Ilgaz Cultural Center

Built in 1888 as a prison during the reign of the then governor Abdurrahman Pasha, the building was purchased and restored by the Ministry of Culture in 1983 and put into service as a Cultural Center in 1992. There is an administrative department of the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism on the upper floor, gallery halls and a multi-purpose hall with a capacity of 200 people on the lower floors.

Kastamonu Archeology Museum

Between 1914 and 1917, it was built as the Union and Progress Committee Building. The building, which was used as the Turkish Quarry and Party Building in certain periods, has also gone down in history as the building where the Second Independence Courts were held.

In 1925, Atatürk made his famous speech about the Hat and Dress Revolution in front of this building.

In the museum, archaeological artifacts from prehistoric times, Roman, Byzantine, Principalities and Ottoman periods are exhibited.

City History Museum

The City History Museum, located under the Governor's Mansion, was opened on October 29, 2002.

The museum contains photographs of the historical and cultural heritage of the province and a library that serves as a source for urban history research. There are documents where students and academicians can conduct research.

Among the most important artifacts of the museum are important artifacts such as the carpet used during Atatürk's arrival in Kastamonu (1907), the piano made in the Sana-i Nefise (School of Art) school of the period (1904-1907).

Kastamonu Castle

Opened by the Governorship of Kastamonu in 2008, the complex includes the Republic House, Hat Museum, Atatürk Exhibition Hall, Dollhouse and Picture Gallery.

Cem Sultan Covered Bazaar

It is the location known as Tailors Bazaar. It was built by Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror's son Şahzede Cem Sultan, whom he sent to his duty as Kastamonu Sanjak Beylik in 1469 AD. Due to the fire in the early 1800s, it was called the Dark Bedesten among the people.

Hometown Library

It is located next to the Government House. The library, which was built in the early 1900s, was donated 500 lira by Atatürk in 1925 and the First Hometown Library was put into service.

In 2002, it was repaired and restored and opened as a painting and photography gallery.

Ottoman Palace Hotel

One of the first municipal organizations of the Ottoman Empire was Kastamonu Municipality established in 1868. The building, which is today restored by a private company under the name of Ottoman Palace and operated as a hotel restaurant, is the old municipal service building, the construction of which started in 1921 and completed in 1924 with the support of tradesmen and merchants. The ownership of the building still belongs to Kastamonu Municipality.

Mimar Vedat Tek Culture and Art Center

Opened by the Governorship of Kastamonu in 2008, the complex includes the Republic House, Hat Museum, Atatürk Exhibition Hall, Dollhouse and Picture Gallery.

Sheikh Shabani Veli Complex

It is understood from the inscription of the mosque in the complex that it was built by Suca Efendi, the teacher of Murad III. Şeyh Şabanı Veli Complex; Degah Houses, Mosque, Tomb, Library, Asa Water and Fountain.

Government Office

Opened in 1902 by Governor Enis Pasha, the architect of the Government House is Vedat Tek. The building, which was built in Arabic architectural style as cut stone and masonry with 3 floors, still serves as the Government Mansion today.

Various publications, paintings, photographs and objects reflecting the history and culture of the province are exhibited in the City History Museum established in 2002 on the ground floor of the Government Mansion.

Yakupaga Complex

The first construction of the complex started with the mosque built by Halimi Çelebi, the teacher of Yavuz Sultan Selim. Then, in 1547, Yakup Aga, the Treasury Chief of Suleiman the Magnificent, took the mosque into renovation and built a madrasah, imaret, guesthouse and a school for children and turned it into a complex.

The mosque is made of cut stone and the domes are covered with lead. The minaret was built on the southwest corner of the mosque. The door of the mosque draws attention with its wood and mother-of-pearl workmanship. It is one of the best examples of carving art. On the panels on the door wings; "May the door of this Mosque always open with joy" and "I bear witness to the unity of Allah" are written.

Munire Madrasa Handicraft Bazaar

The madrasah located behind Nasrullah Mosque was built in 1746 by Reisül Küttab Hacı Mustafa Efendi. The building was opened to tourism in 2001 with the arrangements of the Governorship of Kastamonu. In the 21 shops inside the madrasah, all kinds of traditional handicrafts of Kastamonu can be found, as well as having the opportunity to make a wide tour ranging from local medicinal plants and products to Kastamonu local cuisine.

Nasrullah Kadı Complex

It was built by Nasrullah Kadı in 912-1506. The complex, which includes a mosque, madrasah, fountain and tomb, is owned by the Foundations Administration.

Mosque It was built by Nasrullah Kadi in 912-1506. In 1159-1746, it was repaired and expanded by Reis' ul Küttap Hacı Mustafa Efendi. In the meantime, a library and a madrasah were added. The mosque is still open for worship and is the central mosque of Kastamonu. During the period of the War of Independence, M. Akif Ersoy's sermon in this mosque was distributed to the soldiers at the front to raise their morale.

Munire Madrasah: It is one of the organs of Nasrullah Kadı Complex. The madrasah, which was built by Reis'ul Küttap Hacı Mustafa Efendi in 1159-1746, was repaired in 1224-1809, 1230-1814, 1259-1843 and 1279-1862. The madrasah, which served as the Foundations Student Dormitory for many years, has been allocated to the Provincial Special Administration Directorate of Kastamonu Governorship since this date and started to serve as a handicraft bazaar. In 2005, the allocation was canceled and the madrasah continues to serve as a handicraft bazaar.

Horma Canyon

Horma Canyon, located in Pınarbaşı district, is 3 km from the district center. Horma Canyon, which is one of the must-see places of the Western Black Sea with its natural richness, has recently revitalized tourism in Pinarbasi to a great extent.

Zarı Stream flowing from Ilıca Waterfall passes through the canyon. Horma Canyon, which reveals all the beauties of the Western Black Sea, has a very favorable structure for trekking and is a unique place for canyon sports and nature photography. Today, there is a 3 km wooden platform suitable for nature where families can easily walk. Horma Canyon is a natural aquarium and attracts attention with its impressive giant stone cauldrons and endemic plant species specific to the region.

Ilıca Waterfall

Ilıca Waterfall, which is 12 kilometers away from Kastamonu Pinarbasi, is within the borders of Ilıca Village. It pours from a height of 15 meters. Ilıca waterfall, the natural pool formed where the water is poured and its surroundings have an exotic appearance covered with various vegetation.
